The concept for “Pain in your Eyes” is derived from that same statement. The eyes are gateways to the soul of a person. We can gauge their mood, their interest, and their pain by looking into someones eyes. This was inspiration for this digital art piece. To drive the idea of pain through out every aspect of the design, real pig skin was tattooed into the iris color of an eye. The iris is being pulled back with hooks exposing the “pain” in the heart of the eye, the pupil. The expressive nature of this design lends itself into the visual language of a metal bands cd design. The CD package was developed around the idea of an imaginary metal band called Screams of Slaughter who’s musical message speaks out on internal pain.
