Hi there! I’m jojo and this is a bit about me…

I'm a graphic designer and a fine artist. I'm also Puerto Rican, a science obsessive, a guitar player, a builder of things, and someone currently writing a sci-fi novel at an undisclosed pace. I went to real estate school once. I almost became a massage therapist. I don't always finish what I start — but I start things most people wouldn't dare to, and sometimes I circle back and give old ideas new life.

That's not chaos. That's the pendulum.

My practice is rooted in dualism — the belief that opposing forces don't fight each other so much as define each other. My day job isn't in art, and that's entirely on purpose. I help marketers at Foleon show up for their companies at their best — consulting, problem-solving, teaching strategy. It's social and demanding and it fills one part of me while emptying another. That's how it's supposed to work. The creative self needs freedom, not a job description. The pendulum swings both ways, and I've learned to trust it.

The work on this site is what happens in that freedom.

For most of my practice I've been drawn to the invisible — the microscopic, the scientific, the forces you can feel but not quite see. Lately that's shifted. A trip to Puerto Rico cracked something open. I'm making work now about memory and inheritance, about an island my family carries in their chest, about a complicated relationship with my father and what it means to love something you didn't ask for.

I'm ready to evolve. Ready to collaborate, take risks, and speak louder. If the work interests you — or if you just want to see where this goes — follow along. And if you want to make something together, I'm listening.
